Loteria with Carlos Medina

LOTERÍA aka Mexican Bingo is a game that consists of a deck with 54 cards and an indefinite number of “tablas” (playing boards) with 16 images that you need to match with the cards that are randomly chosen. Many say that LOTERÍA  originated in Italy, but it wasn’t until 1769 when it arrived to Mexico, where for a while it was played amongst the colonial high class. During the Mexican Independence war, LOTERÍA was a popular pastime between soldiers, and upon their return to their homes the game became very popular and spread throughout the entire country. Many years later, the game became an important part of traditional Mexican festivities to date. Continue this tradition, play the LOTERÍA at the Jean Cocteau Cinema hosted by Carlos Medina.
