BLACK LEOPARD, RED WOLF

Come join Marlon James as he discusses his latest novel Black Leopard, Red Wolf

Interviewed by George RR Martin, and moderated by Andrea L. Mays, PhD

James will take questions followed by a signing in our lobby

Tracker is known far and wide for his skills as a hunter: “He has a nose,” people say. Engaged to track down a mysterious boy who disappeared three years earlier, Tracker breaks his own rule of always working alone when he finds himself part of a group that comes together to search for the boy. The band is a hodgepodge, full of unusual characters with secrets of their own, including a shape-shifting man animal known as Leopard.

As Tracker follows the boy’s scent-from one ancient city to another: into dense forests and across deep rivers-he and the band are sell upon by creatures intent on destroying them. As he struggles to survive, Tracker starts lo wonder: Who, realty, is this boy? Why has he been missing for so long? Why do so many people want to keep Tracker from finding him? And perhaps the most important questions of all: Who is tolling the truth, and who is lying?

Drawing from African history and mythology and his own rich imagination, Marlon James has written a novel unlike anything thats come before it: a saga of breathtaking adventure that’s also an ambitious, involving read. Defying categorization and full of unforgettable characters, Black Leopard, Red Wolf is both surprising and profound as it explores the fundamentals of truth, the limits of power, and our need to understand them both.

  • Thanks, New Zealand

I was surprised last night when Air New Zealand went to the internet to invite me down for a visit… to help me finish my book. I cannot say I was not tempted.  New Zealand is a beautiful place.   As it happens, I have already visited there a number of times.   I’ve been to Auckland […]

  • An Ending
by grrm on May 21, 2019 at 2:41 am

The last night, the last show.   After eight epic seasons, HBO’s GAME OF THRONES series has come to an end. It is hard to believe it is over, if truth be told.   The years have gone past in the blink of an eye.  Can it really have been more than a decade since my manager […]

  • More Stuff, More Nonsense

Aside from the idiocy on the internet, what else has been going on of late? Well, I went to LA to moderate the Q&A at the premiere of the new TOLKIEN biopic in Westwood.  The picture is lovely, by the way, and I had a great time.   Got to meet Nicholas Hoult and the lovely […]
