▶︎ About the Artist ◀︎
“Emily Peck was born in Roehampton, England; she immigrated to the US with her mother. Emily has lived and worked in Santa Fe for the past five years pursuing her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Studio Arts at The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA), with an emphasis in silversmithing and photography. Her background includes a multitude of multidisciplinary elements including sculpture, woodwork, mixed-media, and film. In the summer of 2018, Emily completed a three-month internship with the Walt Disney Company as a Walt Disney Imagineering intern in Glendale, California. Emily currently applies her skills of stone setting and fabricating decorative pieces with award-winning precious metals artist, Gregory Segura. After graduation, Emily plans to publish a photography book based on the aesthetics of metal signage from the 1940s-1990s.”
This exhibit will feature photography, capturing the timeless atmosphere of hand-fabricated and painted neon signs from the 1930s through to the late 1990s, as well as jewelry demonstrating the artist’s influences as a silversmith.
