G. Michael Smith

G. Michael Smith creates with heat and gravity. With much of his work being guided by rich and
diverse experiences gained from travels around our world.  Adventuring throughout the United States,
Western Europe, and Canada, Michael has learned the importance of attaining new knowledge through
personal and group experiences. This has grown his understanding that one’s world truly expands when
standing at the precious of a new experience. For him, this has brought inspiration drawn from beautiful
structures found in the surrounding world.   “Creativity Unleashed” is his vision for transformational
results life by learning from what nature has already figured out.
As a glass artist, Michael uses themes and sculpture to create works that are not, at first, expected to
be made from glass. This pushes the concept of glass and can new appreciation for the material.
Michael is a graduate of Jacksonville University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Glass Art. He uses
multiple techniques to manipulate the material, including blown, hot sculpted, sand casting, plaster
mold casting, kiln forming, and lots of cold working.   Glass elements are also incorporated with wood
and metal. His goal is to create works that inspire and connect viewers with elemental aspects of our
own nature. When creations taps into a universal truth, it permeates through all structures and beliefs.
Michael hopes to present a glimpse into worlds that reveal just how powerful and interconnected we
are as individuals though Mythos we all share.

Michael is a Glass Smith and currently lives in New Mexico beneath star covered mountains.
