NAMI Presents: A Beautiful Mind

 

Please join the National Alliance on Mental Illness as they partner with the Jean Cocteau Cinema for a screening of “A Beautiful Mind”, October 8th at 7 PM! This event will raise funds desperately needed by NAMI for the research and tools to educate others on mental illness and those affected by mind altering diseases. 

 

NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness, especially those with serious mental illness. NAMI advocates for effective prevention, diagnosis, treatment, support, research and recovery that improves the quality of life of persons of all ages who are affected by mental illness!

 

Film Synopsis:

 

A human drama inspired by events in the life of John Forbes Nash Jr., and in part based on the biography “A Beautiful Mind” by Sylvia Nasar. From the heights of notoriety to the depths of depravity, John Forbes Nash Jr. experienced it all. A mathematical genius, he made an astonishing discovery early in his career and stood on the brink of international acclaim. But the handsome and arrogant Nash soon found himself on a painful and harrowing journey of self-discovery.
